Activities depend on the tour length, but routes can include jungle trekking to the reserve for lotus flowers and Pirarucu, pink and grey dolphin watching, piranha fishing, sloth observation in Peru, Tikuna community visits and night jungle routes. The 4 day tours also add Mocagua and the Maikuchiga Monkey Rehabilitation Centre.
How do high water and low water seasons affect the itinerary?
High water level season runs from late January to early June and can include kayaking through flooded jungle routes. Low water level season runs from late June to early January and often shifts some activities toward piranha fishing, firmer trails and lower river landscapes.
Can I take a flight on the last day of the tour?
Most tours return to Leticia around 5:00 PM on the final day. If you have the Avianca 5:50 PM flight, ask in advance because some routes can finish around 3:00 PM with airport transfer. A later evening flight or next-day flight is usually more relaxed.
